Guerrouane Teapots
6'11" by 5'5"

0.00

A soft riot of teapots. The deep red field has faded to coral, just the right background for the symbols knotted in cream and charcoals. Tufts of turquoise and some black outlines show whimsy and contrast. A free composition places symbols seemingly randomly and the easy charm of teapots and eight-pointed stars abound. It is a well-woven old piece with a few interesting alterations and repairs. It was likely once longer but has been cut and finished with a hand-woven flatweave band on one end. Densely woven in Berber knots worn to a low pile with wonderful patina. Braided fringe on one end.
