Minimal and bold. In true black and creamy white, it is a beautifully paired down example of Azilal modernism. It references both the ubiquitous lozenge and the chevron with simple line and a very loose symmetry. The cream is the shimmering undyed wool for which these rugs are known, the inky black acrylic. With a dot of henna knots as signature and a heavy black border as frame. Making the best of basic materials at hand, it shows both the practicality and modern sensibility of traditional art.
