A strong example of High Atlas abstraction. Loosely knotted and supple, it is a painterly textile that can be shown on a wall or a floor. Cool tones dominate, with a true blue and peaches against undyed wool that itself leans cool. While the motif’s symmetry is skewed to an unusual degree, a border of soft coral contains it all, a frame for a freeform composition. It is old with small signs of age on one end but it remains in wonderful condition, a piece of art.
