Swirling high pile and a hundred blues. It has the sumptuous texture of an animal pelt, cowlicks and all. From brilliant to denim blue with huge variation in how it catches the light. There are small hints on the face that something else lies beneath but it is not until you flip it over that you see the rather traditional blocked diamond field and scattered symbols in deep red and cream. It is an excellent example of two rugs in one, unrecognizable from front to back. Utility and beauty combined.
