Soft, a little punk, a little modern despite its age, wonderfully woolly. In pinks, henna orange, mint green, black, and cream it uses a traditional palette to unique effect. Traditionally the checkered motif represented agriculture and prosperity. Here, it takes over as pattern, a repetitive geometry with subtle variations. A row of blue breaks through. A few squares hide small symbols. Black runs across the middle. It has obviously been made for use and some signs of that add to the variation and charm, from the spots of lower pile to the end that remains less faded. The quality is undeniable, in full Berber knots and excellent wool.
