Truly bold and equally beautiful. The striking color combo makes it unique--the lushest red layered with a dark brown that reads black and a subtle pink outline. But the details really matter here. The wool is long and finely spun for a luxurious feel. The touches of grey come from faded robin’s egg blue wool and maintain some of the subtle hue. The motif is rhythmic and strong but off-center just so. It is also unusually minimal for an old Talsint sleeping rug. But it lacks nothing for impact, blending drama with movement and sophistication. An old piece, it shows some signs of age including subtle repairs and wear on the flat weave end but neither detract from the personality or the quality of this rug. The edges have been reinforced in places with goat hair and demonstrate the sawtooth selvedge typical of the region. With striped flat weave on one end and braided fringe on the other.
