Complex and joyful, showing the wonderful skill and independence of Talsint weaving traditions. There is depth here, helped by full abrash in a field of magentas and oranges faded to sunset hues. Purple, signature Talsint green, grey, and black lend contrast and visual weight. This bright play in the color choices is balanced by a seriousness evident in the size, heft, skill, and symbols. The symbols show common themes in old Talsint rugs: shields, crosses and a hamza for protection and jewels for prosperity. Despite a complex motif and large color range, there is visual coherence, with striped flat weave on either end that pulls the colors together. High pile adds luxury and movement. An older piece with some repairs visible on the back but in great condition overall.
