Traditional composition in full Boucherouite funk. Traditional elements include a field of diamonds and a central medallion typical of Arab Boujad rugs. But rendered in scarps and rags it becomes something wildly unconventional. There is a rainbow of colors though peach, putty pink, and black come through strongly. Parts that were once wool knots have worn significantly more than other fabrics leaving them in relief and adding lovely texture. In spots most worn, the revealed ground shows rag as well, shot through with silver thread. This adds both shine and an unintentional horizontal design element. Overall, it is a colorful composition made wildly interesting with age. Braided fringe on one end.
