Monochromatic beauty with a shock of color. It is velvet to the touch, in medium pile that has a distinct nap. Originally a deep pink indicative of the madder reds seen in the region, it has faded to subtle shades of salmon. Some deeper bands interrupt, but only briefly. A strong geometric element enters with the exaggerated selvedge that mimics the traditional sawtooth. But the real personality comes out in the bold poppy and cobalt stripes on the long flatweave ends. It reads incredibly modern for an old faded piece. With thin braided fringe on one end.
